Happy (Swiss) Christmas

December 24, 2010, 2 Comments

It’s Christmas Eve, it’s snowing and Bing is singing. What more could I ask for? So most Swiss haven’t ever pulled a cracker, and turkey with all the trimmings is an alien concept, but when you live in a Christmas card none of that really matters. I might miss the mince pies, Sound of Music on the telly, Boxing Day sales, and a four-day weekend. But instead I get but lebkuchen, the Sissi trilogy, a walk in the snowy mountains, and (best of all) real candles on the tree. Oh, and going back to work 9am Monday morning. Can’t win them all.

So very merry Christmas to everyone, wherever you are reading this. Here’s to a wonderful 2011 for all of us.
